Welcome to the Gumball 3000
It has been a BUSY August and enjoying every moment. I had a great opportunity to travel with the PUMA krew as part of the Gumball 3000 Rally. For those that don’t know, this is an insane, no-holds-barred car rally that has been globe hopping for the last 10 years. Every year it changes location. This year the route started in San Francisco and ended in Beijing. I covered the US leg for PUMA (see www.pumagumball.com for my account of the rally) through San Fran, LA, San Diego and Vegas. Here’s a taste:

NYC Summertime
Some shots from the Brooklyn backseat, a view down Lex, and dancing at Summerstage. Summer nyc love.

PUMA Fashionz
I was PUMA’s in-house photographer for their spring 2009 fashion campaign shoot at Fast Ashley’s Studios with Nagi Sakai. Can’t show anything that let’s you see what they will be releasing obviously, but here’s a sneak peak from the shoot. Model Irina Lazareanu is quite something, ask her to tell you about her friend’s Amy Winehouse and Pete Doherty if you happen by a chance to speak with her, quite entertaining and insightful.

PT3 Ultramagnetic Collection WINS!
Last year I helped my friends at Aruliden photograph their beautifully designed Ultramagnetic Collection for PUMA. Johan Liden designed a fantastic ping pong paddle and ball case with no hinges, zippers or levers attached. Simple, yet powerful industrial strength magnets hold the clamshell style cases together.
Aruliden recently entered a few design contests and I’m proud to say they’ve absolutely cleaned up, beating out BandAid (Johnson & Johnson) and iPod (Apple) among many others. Take a look here for Businessweek’s announcement on the most recent win in the IDEA design contest. And here for their win in ID Magazine’s prestigious annual contest.
